The Parks Series captured my attention from book one. We went from learning Evelyn’s secrets in book one, then Wade’s skeletons were out for display in book two. Both broken human beings desperately seeking the very thing that they fear the most, love. Well love wasn’t that difficult especially when you mix their kind of lust and kink with it, but the love that requires trust, that was the main obstacle they will have to overcome.
I’m not going to sugar coat it here, I loved Wade in the first two books but he wore on my last nerve in the first half of this one. I have never wanted to slap two people more than I did with them. Wade Parks kept running, trying to solve his issues and their future alone, Evelyn kept going back, begging for him to let her in only to get rejected then turn angry and later go back again for another try. I will say that if this has been written like other books I probably wouldn’t have finished but Lilly James kept me invested with the additional plot issues regarding Wade’s family.
The more I learned about his family, the more understanding I gained for him and admiration for her to put up with his stubborn, sexy butt. I consider this a true talent of the author when they can take my biggest pet peeve in books and make it an addiction that refused to allow me to put the book down.
There are many important messages and hints that you are given throughout the story, I had a few things figured out before they happened but there were also some OMG moments that blew me away when it came to discovery of just what Wade had endured as a child. The very best part for me was Evelyn’s personality and strength. On paper there is no way she would be the perfect mate for the likes of wealthy, accomplished, sexy, alpha Wade Parks, but in reality she was just what he needed. Her mouth and spit fire attitude kept him on his toes, bringing to light that he might have to make some changes if he is going to keep this woman. While all of that was going on, she had the courage to acknowledge she would also need to make some changes of her own, the first being, thaw out the ice wall around her heart when it comes to others.
Overall this series was a hit for me, one that I will remember for a long time. It brought moments of enjoyment, tears, frustration and the plot never disappointed me. Evelyn and Wade became a major part of my day as I dived into their story, keeping me thinking about them as I was doing my daily chores or working at my job. When a book becomes a distraction for me in my daily life, I consider it a great read and each book in this series was exactly that for me.
I enjoyed reading this series, thought it was a good story, plot..... it's hard not to think of FSOG but I did feel there were similarities.
Evelyn, the main character, I hated her in book one, then in book two I began to come around. Basically, once she opened up and stopped running from everything. I liked Wade, although he was extreme alpha male, controlling. I'm glad he was able to somewhat work out some issues from his past.
The whole Tabby thing I had figured out. Her weird behavior and just how she was too interested in the Parks family. Evelyn was so quick to not trust anybody, not open up to anyone, but yet was sooo blind to Tabby. Anytime something didn't add up, she just brushed it off, which annoyed the heck out of me.
I do feel that the story was a bit dragged out. Because I'm American, it was a little adjustment getting use to some of the terms in this book. There were a few editing errors, mainly mixed up words, but nothing too distracting.
Would I recommend this series....? I would with the caveat that it's "something to read." Not bad but not something that wowed me. Good books though!
I enjoyed all of the books truly are page turners.... I would recommend all the books most definitely hated that it ended ......

Truly a beautifully, heart wrenching story. I absolutely loved this entire series, and will most definitely be reading more from this author.
Just amazing how this author brought this wonderful story together. Two broken people and a similar past . This by far is one of the best series out there. Thanks Lily for a wonderful love story.
